Rachael learned to play trumpet and violin at junior school and studied at Wolverhampton Music School. While there she played on 8 European tours with the Wolverhampton Youth Orchestra and Wind Orchestra. She joined the City of Wolverhampton Brass Band aged 12 and was Principal Cornet by 15. Rachael performed with the City of Wolverhampton Brass Band and with the National Methodist Youth Brass Band while completing her degree. She also played in the production of Brassed Off at the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.
