Kate began playing brass (after playing on the dark side of woodwind) aged 16 where she joined Langley Band on 2nd baritone. She stopped playing for a brief period whilst at University but picked up the baritone again joining Amington Band. It is here where she made her way up to principal euphonium under the direction of Wesley Kendrick. After her daughter was born, Kate joined Bold’z Brass on solo euphonium where she stayed for almost 10 years. Kate was delighted to join the Staffordshire Band in April 2023.
