Jon started playing the BBb Bass over 50 years ago with his school brass band in Dursley, Gloucestershire. He also played with a local village band in Stinchcombe. On leaving school Jon joined the Thornbury Band and enjoyed promotion to the Championship section. After relocating to Worcestershire, Jon accepted an invitation to join the Jaguar Cars (City of Coventry) Band. After that, he joined the Flowers Band where he played for 23 years. In 2014 Jon joined Filton Concert Brass, winning the First Section National Final in the same year.
In January 2022, Jon joined the Staffordshire Band following (a grovelling!!) approach from their MD, Craig Williams.
Away from banding Jon works for his local Registration Service. He also enjoys gardening and growing fruit & veg on his allotment.
