It was an absolute honour to be invited to perform at The National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
On Friday 3rd June 2022, The Staffordshire Band took to the stage in Heroes Square at this very special and prestigious venue. We performed a varied programme to a full capacity audience over three afternoon slots between 1pm – 4pm.
From traditional brass band toe tappers through to premieres of brand new brass band compositions by the band’s composer in residence, Samuel Shelley – there was something to entertain everyone. Many of the new compositions will appear on our new CD, which is being released towards the end of the year.
Big shout out to our new band mascot – Buster, the cockapoo – he will be making regular appearances at future concerts wearing the band tie, of course!
